Melanie Wallace, NOVA

Melanie Wallace is the Senior Series Producer for NOVA, the highly regarded PBS science series now in its 45 season. She has worked in many capacities over the last 30 years including producer/director, and writer, on a wide variety of NOVA programs which span topics as diverse as climate change, Climate Crisis , medical innovation, Separating Twins, the role of women in space Space Women . In her current role, Melanie works closely with Senior Executive Producer, Paula Apsell, searching for new talent, innovative program ideas, and new co-production opportunities. Melanie brokers deals between NOVA and NOVA’s numerous national and international partners such as the BBC, Arte, ABC Australia, and NHK. She frequently is asked to speak about NOVA and the importance of science literacy most recently in Brooklyn at the international public broadcasters conference INPUT, in Paris to the Parisian Association of Independent Television Producers and in China at the Guanzchou Documentary Film Festival. She has been on the board of the World Congress of Science and Factual Producers and has served as a judge for the News and Documentary Emmys as well as the Columbia Dupont Awards.
